BCP Council is seeking an experienced senior manager to lead the delivery of coronial and mortuary services across Dorset. This is a high-profile statutory role at the heart of public service, supporting the Coroner and other professional staff to deliver dignified outcomes for bereaved families.

The role:

  • You’ll be the senior operational lead for the Coroners Service and Mortuary Service, working closely with the Senior Coroner and key partners including Dorset Council, Dorset Police and health services.
  • Lead and support a skilled workforce, manage contracts and budgets, and oversee IT support.
  • Act as a Human Tissue Authority licence holder.
  • Play a critical role in emergency planning for excess deaths and mass fatality incidents.
  • Ensure services are compliant, efficient and responsive, even in challenging circumstances.
