It starts with our people, which is why we need an Associate to join our Transport & Asset Finance practice with a primary focus on rail/rolling stock finance. Here, you’ll work with a supportive team of lawyers who have extensive experience in structuring, drafting, negotiating and completing the sale, purchase, leasing, procurement and financing of tangible moveable assets, in particular in the rail and aviation sectors, in which we handle significant and market-leading transactions.
Our rail practice is a Band 1 ranked practice in both the Asset Finance: Rail Finance category and the Transport: Rail: Rolling Stock category in the Chambers UK directory.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Advising clients on all aspects of asset financing in the rail and aviation sectors with a primary focus on the rail sector.
- Running smaller transactions independently alongside others in the team.
- Drafting and reviewing documentation.
- Managing clients and project delivery.
- Supervision of junior team members.
- Identifying key legal and commercial issues and risks.
- Inputting into, and participating in, pitch/panel presentations.
- Supporting business development initiatives and client relationship management.
Skills and experience required:
- 2 years PQE+
- Experience of running asset finance transactions.
- Experience of the rail sector desirable.
- General banking finance experience.
- Experience in cross-border transactions.
- Excellent legal execution with strong technical and problem solving skills.
- Strong drafting skills.
- A team player, with a passion for developing and sharing expertise.
- Ethical and professional manner.
- Relationship focussed and confident in front of clients.
- Ability to work independently but know when to seek additional support.
- Clear and concise communication skills.
