Recent Team highlights include:

  • The Crown Estate – Advised on the ÂŁ24bn landmark joint venture with Lendlease. The joint venture is a landmark deal in the real estate market as it aims to progress some of the UK’s largest regeneration schemes. We advised on the tax structuring and transactional documentation of this market leading transaction.
  • Grosvenor – Advised on the high profile ÂŁ1.2bn joint venture with Norges Bank involving a portfolio of properties.

The tax team provides advice in relation to the structuring and execution of transactions, both in the UK market and internationally. Your role would be advising on the tax aspects of some or all of:

  • structured real estate transactions;
  • M&A, joint venture and other corporate transactions;
  • funds: hedge and debt, real estate and other asset classes;
  • international tax structures and cross-border transactions;
  • structured finance and capital markets;
  • insolvency and restructuring; and
  • relevant VAT and indirect tax issues.

Skills and experience required:

  • A broad range of corporate tax experience at a City or large regional practice.
  • Experience in real estate tax and taxation of corporate transactions is an advantage.
  • Tax experience could in addition include funds taxation OR taxation of financial transactions.
  • Commercially focussed with an intellectual curiosity.
  • Confident in front of clients.
  • Ability to work independently but know when to seek additional support.
  • Confident to question tax “received thinking”.
  • Clear and concise communication skills.
  • Flexibility, and adaptability.
