An opportunity has arisen for an associate to join a high performing team of real estate disputes lawyers managing a complex caseload of real estate disputes and advisory work. The team has been No.1 Ranked in Chambers and Legal 500 for more than 20 years.
The team advises clients on complex high stakes disputes at all levels of the UK court system including the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court and provides risk advisory advice to leading institutional landlords, developers, investors, corporate occupiers and financial institutions.
We cover a full range of real estate disputes including:
- Sale and Purchase disputes
- Landlord and tenant issues including complex 1954 Act claims; rent arrears, dilapidations claims and forfeiture disputes
- Property insolvency disputes
- Professional negligence claims
- Rights of light matters
- Telecommunications Code strategic advice and disputes
- Protestor and trespass matters
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing a variety of client matters with a focus on providing strategic, commercial advice
- Delegating tasks to and supervising trainees and paralegals and contributing to the technical and legal knowledge of the wider team (writing articles, delivering training and presentations to internal and external clients)
- Developing close working relationships with clients, intermediaries, and colleagues in both UK and international offices
- Taking client instructions and having a full understanding of the client's goals
- Taking responsibility for ensuring client matters and files are appropriately supervised and managed
- Giving commercially astute advice and demonstrating a thorough understanding of the commercial issues that clients face
