An excellent opportunity has arisen for a talented Professional Support Lawyer to join a high-performing Real Estate team in London. This role is ideally suited to a Real Estate specialist seeking to step into a strategic, knowledge-focused position with significant influence across the firm.
The firm operates across Europe and internationally, offering high-quality legal services across real estate, corporate, finance, energy, technology and life sciences. Working within a sophisticated and well-established transactional real estate platform, you will play a pivotal role in shaping legal strategy, driving innovation, supporting client delivery and strengthening technical excellence across the practice. The Role
As the Real Estate PSL, you will combine technical expertise with commercial insight to support partners, fee-earners and clients across the full spectrum of transactional real estate work. You will lead key knowledge and innovation initiatives, ensure the team remains at the forefront of market and legal developments, and help drive the firm\’s ongoing commitment to excellence.
Your remit will be broad, strategic and highly visible, offering genuine scope to influence how the practice operates.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Legal Insight & Market Analysis
- Conduct in-depth research across the real estate transactional market to identify legal developments, risks and commercial opportunities.
- Provide strategic guidance to partners and senior stakeholders to inform client engagement, business planning and practice development.
Knowledge Management & Precedent Development
- Lead the development and implementation of an effective knowledge management strategy aligned with the firm\’s priorities.
- Enhance and maintain a high-quality precedent bank, ensuring fee-earners have access to market-leading resources.
- Drive innovation through the adoption of technology, AI-powered tools and improved knowledge-sharing systems.
Thought Leadership & Client Engagement
- Produce thought-provoking client briefings, insight reports, market commentary and white papers.
- Support partners with client development initiatives, offering strategic insight to deepen relationships and enhance service delivery.
- Contribute to internal and external training, seminars and client events.
Document Automation & Technology Integration
- Assess, implement and optimise document automation systems and AI-supported legal technologies.
- Partner with internal tech teams and external providers to ensure cutting-edge tools meet the practice\’s needs and enhance efficiency.
Training, Mentoring & Professional Development
- Design and deliver high-quality training for lawyers at all levels on legal developments, best practice and technical skills.
- Provide individual coaching and act as a trusted adviser on complex matters.
- Work with practice group leaders to identify learning needs and shape tailored development programmes.
About You
- Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with strong Real Estate Transactional experience.
- Genuine interest in knowledge, innovation, legal developments and the evolution of the real estate market.
- Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to translate complex legal issues into clear, practical guidance.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the confidence to engage effectively with partners, clients and external providers.
- Experience in PSL, knowledge management or legal innovation is advantageous, although experienced transactional lawyers interested in transitioning into a PSL role are also encouraged to apply.
