Successful candidates can look forward to joining one of the most specialised Employment departments in the UK, looking to strengthen their Employment offering with the addition of an experienced Associate. They are considered to be amongst the leading firms, globally, for Employment law, with a global presence across the UK, US, and East Asia. You will be joining a highly specialised team, working across various jurisdictions, and various areas of employment law, providing business‑focused employment advice and litigation for a range of clients, including high‑profile venture capital funds.

This is a hardworking US law firm, operating at the top of the market, and handling complex cross‑border work for a global client base.

As an Employment Associate within the team, you can expect to undertake a broad range of work with a supportive collegiate department. The firm is looking for someone capable of developing into a trusted advisor to their biggest clients, advising on all aspects of UK employment law, including executive dismissal, high‑value settlement agreements, complex team moves, as well as injunctions, competition issues, trade union and organised labour disputes and tribunal litigation.

The work involved will include significant Employment Tribunal litigation, with the ideal candidate being capable of drafting pleadings, witness statements, and dealing with discovery, as well as undertaking pre‑trial advocacy. The firm has an established corporate team, so there will also be elements of corporate support work, although this will amount to a maximum of 20%. Someone with experience of working within the financial services sector would benefit greatly, however the firm also has strong links within manufacturing and logistics, tech, media, and telecoms.

Applications are sought from experienced Associates with at least six years' post qualification experience, gained in England & Wales or a similar, leading common law jurisdiction. You will possess strong academics, and a confident understanding of employment law, ideally from a Top 20/Legal 500 background. Candidates should have strong organisational skills and a keen interest in joining one of the world's largest law firms.

Salary package of £120,000 - £140,000, 25 days annual leave, bonus scheme, enhanced maternity and paternity pay, cycle to work scheme.
