Construction Lawyer | International Law Firm | City of LondonWe are looking for an experienced construction lawyer to join a leading firm\’s highly regarded non-contentious construction team in London. This is a unique opportunity to advise on high-profile, complex construction projects, both domestically and internationally, with a firm known for its expertise in the construction, engineering, and infrastructure sectors.
About the RoleAs a Senior Associate, you will be responsible for advising on a wide range of front-end construction matters, with a focus on contract formation, project procurement, and the negotiation of key construction documents.
Responsibilities
Contract Reviews & Tender Procedures: Advising clients on contract formation, tender checks, and procurement processes.
Procurement & Project Negotiations: Strategic legal advice on procurement routes, including traditional, design & build, PPP/PFI, and alliancing agreements.
Drafting & Reviewing Documentation: Preparing and reviewing construction-related documents such as building contracts, consultants\’ appointments, collateral warranties, and security documentation.
Project Variations & Terminations: Offering proactive solutions to handle variations, terminations, and disputes before they escalated.
International Projects: Working on significant international projects, advising clients across multiple jurisdictions.
About You
5+ years PQE in non-contentious construction law, gained either in private practice or in-house.
Demonstrable experience advising on construction procurement routes, joint venture agreements, and PPP/PFI documentation.
Strong expertise in construction documentation, including building contracts, consultants\’ appointments, collateral warranties, and third-party rights.
Track record of advising on international projects is preferred, but not essential.
Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
