An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Non-Contentious Construction Associate to join the London Construction team of a highly regarded international law firm. This role is predominantly non-contentious and offers exposure to high-value, complex and often unique construction and development projects for an exceptional client base. This position will particularly appeal to construction lawyers seeking high-quality advisory work, close client access and genuine responsibility, within a collaborative and forward-thinking firm.
The Construction team sits within a well-established and highly respected Real Estate practice, advising across commercial, residential, landed estates and mixed-use developments. The team is intentionally close-knit, working seamlessly with colleagues across real estate, finance, tax, private client and corporate teams, both in London and internationally.
As a Construction Associate, you will focus primarily on non-contentious construction matters, advising on development and construction aspects of high-profile projects. You will work both independently and as part of wider multi-disciplinary teams, with early responsibility and meaningful client exposure. The firm is known for attracting clients with sophisticated and often bespoke requirements, offering you the opportunity to develop deep technical expertise while delivering commercially focused advice.
Key Responsibilities- Drafting and negotiating bespoke construction contracts, including amendments to industry-standard forms
- Advising on construction elements of facility agreements and agreements for lease
- Advising on procurement strategies, tendering processes and public-sector requirements
- Providing commercially astute construction advice aligned with current market practice
- Collaborating closely with colleagues across the Real Estate and wider firm
- Supporting client relationship development and business development initiatives
This role is well suited to a 3-5 PQE construction solicitor with a strong grounding in non-contentious work and a desire to work on premium-quality matters.
Qualifications- 3-5 years' PQE in non-contentious construction law
- Strong academic background with excellent drafting and negotiation skills
- Confidence advising clients directly and managing matters with appropriate supervision
- A collaborative, proactive and commercially minded approach
- The ability to take responsibility early and contribute positively to team culture
- Enthusiasm for business development and long-term client relationships
- Comfort with legal technology and modern ways of working
