The Role:
- Take responsibility for the day-to-day management of banking and capital markets transactions.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of banking documentation, including loan agreements, security documentation, private placements, listed bond issues, ISDA agreements, and PFI loan agreements.
- Work directly with clients, understanding their objectives and meeting deadlines.
- Contribute to business development and client relationship management in a client-focused manner.
- Provide support to other fee earners in the department, sharing knowledge and expertise where required.
- Maintain accurate and compliant client files in line with LEXCEL, ISO27001, and SRA standards.
- Meet or exceed monthly billing targets and support efficient team operations.
Candidate Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor with 5+ years' experience in banking law and/or capital markets transactions.
- Experience advising borrowers or lenders, with excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
- Strong academic background (2:1 or First at degree level or equivalent preferred).
- Commercially aware, able to convey clear, concise advice to clients and stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and able to prioritise a demanding workload while remaining calm and professional.
- Team player with flexibility to meet client deadlines.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in charity law, housing association law, or regulatory matters.
- Familiarity with Document Management Systems (DMS) and time recording systems such as Partners for Windows.
