We’re partnering with a large international business looking to appoint a Senior Legal Counsel into its lean and highly visible Group Legal team. This is a rare opportunity to step into a broad role combining corporate governance, financing transactions, securities‑related matters and strategic legal support across an international group. Working closely with senior leadership, you will gain exposure to a wide variety of complex and business‑critical matters while enjoying a level of responsibility that is often difficult to find in larger legal teams.

The Opportunity

  • Corporate governance and board‑related matters
  • Group company secretarial and entity management work
  • Financing transactions, including loan facilities and capital markets activity
  • Securities and public company reporting matters
  • ESG and corporate disclosure projects
  • Strategic corporate initiatives and cross‑border projects
  • Advising senior stakeholders across business functions

One of the most attractive aspects of this role is its breadth. While experience of securities, capital markets or financing work would be highly relevant, this is not a narrow specialist position. Instead, it offers the opportunity to build experience across a wide range of legal and business matters.

About You

  • UK or US qualified lawyer
  • Likely 8+ PQE, although experience will be considered on its merits
  • Background in corporate, finance, capital markets, securities or a related discipline
  • Ideally some exposure to US securities, SEC reporting, capital markets or listed company matters, although broader experience will also be considered
  • Interested in broadening your skillset and taking on a wider remit

Why Consider This Role?

  • Broad and varied workload with excellent exposure to senior stakeholders
  • Opportunity to move beyond a narrow specialism
  • International remit and cross‑border work
  • High levels of responsibility and visibility
  • Supportive and collaborative legal team
  • Hybrid working and excellent benefits package

We are particularly interested in a lawyer who has built strong technical expertise in corporate, finance or securities work and is now looking for an opportunity to broaden their experience and become a more rounded in‑house legal adviser.

BCL Legal is an equal opportunities employer.
