This leading firm is working exclusively with BCL Legal to recruit senior employment lawyers (6+ PQE) for a unique, highly flexible role within its top-ranked Employment team. This is private practice reimagined. There are no personal fee targets, no billing, no debt collection, no business development and no article-writing. Instead, you choose the type of work you do and are paid accordingly.
The role:
- Lawyers typically combine client secondments with helpline and project work, including Employment Tribunal litigation.
- You decide the balance: some focus on a split of helpline work and litigation, others move between secondments, and the firm aims to be as flexible as possible around personal commitments.
Helpline work:
- Fully home based, available from 1 or 2 days per week, with fixed and manageable hours.
Secondments:
- Often part time and fully or partially remote, usually with well-known multinational clients across media, technology, retail and professional and financial services.
Contract: permanent, giving certainty over basic pay and benefits, with opportunities to increase income through different work types.
Full IT equipment and support provided for your home office.
You will be fully integrated into the team, invited to all social events, and have access to comprehensive professional development and training.
About you:
- At least 6 years' PQE.
- Excellent academics and strong UK employment law knowledge, up to date with recent developments.
- Strong interpersonal and team-working skills.
- Qualified UK or Irish qualified lawyer with a current UK practising certificate (or overseas equivalent).
- In-house and/or Employee Relations experience is beneficial for secondments but not essential.
