BCL Legal is delighted to be partnering with a top-tier national law firm as it continues to grow its highly respected Residential Development team in Birmingham. The firm is now seeking a Solicitor with 1-3 years of post-qualification experience to meet increasing demand in this buoyant sector. This is an outstanding opportunity for lawyers with a commercial development background looking to pivot into residential development, or those already operating in this space.
The team advises many of the UK's leading housebuilders, including several of the top 10 by volume, and provides a full-service offering from land acquisition through to final disposal. Known for managing complex, large-scale development schemes, the team regularly handles acquisitions, funding structures, collaboration agreements, and urban regeneration projects. Following several strategic partner-level appointments, the team is looking to bolster its junior ranks to support a growing pipeline of work.
The Role
- Providing legal advice on land acquisitions, disposals, and development agreements, focusing on residential schemes across England and Wales.
- Supporting national housebuilders with funding, strategic land options, and collaboration arrangements.
- Working on significant urban regeneration and development projects of national importance.
- Managing and maintaining strong client relationships throughout the full lifecycle of development.
- Liaising with a wide range of stakeholders, including developers, housing associations, and institutional investors, to ensure successful project delivery.
Candidate Requirements
- 1-3 years PQE in property or real estate law, with a strong interest in residential development.
- Experience advising housebuilders is desirable, although a background in commercial development will also be considered.
- A genuine enthusiasm for residential development and land work.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
- A commercially minded and proactive approach, with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
