A leading international law firm is looking to appoint a talented Senior Associate to join its top-tier Real Estate Energy & Infrastructure team in London. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced real estate lawyer to play a central role in some of the most significant energy and infrastructure projects in the UK. You will advise on high-profile developments that are critical to the UK's transition to net zero, including renewable energy, transport and major infrastructure schemes.

The Opportunity

You will join a highly regarded practice recognised for its expertise in delivering major energy, renewables and infrastructure projects. The team acts for developers, investors, funders, public sector bodies and landowners on nationally significant matters across a broad range of sectors. The work spans:

  • Onshore and offshore wind projects
  • Solar and battery storage developments
  • Hydrogen and carbon capture projects
  • Nuclear and energy-from-waste schemes
  • Heat networks and EV charging infrastructure
  • Airports, ports and transport-related infrastructure

This role offers the chance to work on innovative, often first-of-a-kind projects that are helping shape the future of the UK's infrastructure landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on the real estate aspects of major energy, renewables and infrastructure projects
  • Draft and negotiate options, leases, development agreements and ancillary project documents
  • Lead title investigations, access arrangements, site assembly and land due diligence
  • Support Development Consent Order (DCO) and Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) projects
  • Work directly with clients and stakeholders on complex, high-value transactions
  • Collaborate with specialists across planning, construction, finance, corporate and regulatory teams
  • Supervise and mentor junior lawyers
  • Build and strengthen client relationships
  • Contribute to business development and the continued growth of the practice

About You

  • Ideally 5+ years’ PQE in commercial real estate
  • Experience in energy, renewables, infrastructure or major development projects
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
  • Strong technical and commercial judgement
  • Confidence managing complex matters and multiple stakeholders
  • A collaborative and proactive approach
  • An interest in mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to business development
