BCL Legal is working with a nationally recognised law firm seeking a Senior or Principal Associate to join its high-performing Property Litigation team in Birmingham. This is a permanent, full-time position offering exposure to complex, high-value real estate disputes and a clear path for progression within a collaborative, top-tier practice. This role is ideal for a commercially minded litigator looking to take the lead on challenging matters while mentoring junior lawyers and helping shape the strategic direction of the team.

The Role

  • Lead on complex property disputes including landlord and tenant litigation, investment and development-related claims, and niche areas such as telecommunications or restrictive covenants.
  • Advise clients across retail, leisure, public and development sectors.
  • Manage key client relationships and act as a trusted legal advisor.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to internal training and development.
  • Take part in business development initiatives and thought leadership.
  • Play a strategic role in the continued growth of the Birmingham office’s real estate disputes offer.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified solicitor with 4 years' PQE in property litigation.
  • Broad experience in landlord and tenant work, rights to light, development disputes, and land registration issues.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to deliver pragmatic, client-focused advice.
  • Previous experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and enthusiasm for client engagement and business development.
