BCL Legal is delighted to be working with a highly regarded national law firm on an exciting opportunity for a Projects Associate or Senior Associate to join its thriving Commercial and Infrastructure team, based in Birmingham.
This leading team is nationally recognised for its expertise in advising on complex PFI and PPP matters across a broad range of sectors, including Health, Education, Social Care, Police and Custodial, Housing, Highways, and more. The role offers the chance to work on major, high-profile infrastructure projects with both public and private sector clients.
With a flexible hybrid working policy and a collaborative, inclusive culture, this position is ideal for a projects lawyer seeking to take on challenging, high-value work within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
The Role:
- Lead on the structuring and delivery of complex PFI/PPP contracts.
- Advise on the day-to-day operational management of existing contracts, including variations, contract interpretation, and performance issues.
- Provide strategic guidance on project expiry, retendering, and future service provision.
- Mentor junior lawyers and contribute to training initiatives within the team.
- Play an active role in business development and client relationship management.
About You:
- 5-8 years\’ PQE with solid experience in projects law, ideally including PFI and PPP.
- A strong foundation in commercial contracts and public sector infrastructure projects.
- Confidence advising on complex legal and commercial matters in a practical, solutions-focused way.
- A collaborative approach with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple matters.
