Leading plots sales team have a new opportunity for a plots fee earner to join their thriving team. We are a specialist conveyancing team experienced in residential property transactions. The team is made up of solicitors, licensed conveyancers, legal executives, experienced non-qualified conveyancers, paralegals and support staff.
Responsibilities
- Issuing and preparing contract packs using standard documentation following receipt of the memorandum of sale
- Dealing with pre-contract enquiries under supervision where required
- Processing exchange of contracts
- Handling part-exchange purchases and resales
- Preparing completion statements
- Managing completion procedures
- Undertaking Land Registry applications for the wider property team
- Completing online SDLT returns
- Using Land Registry online services
- Procuring conveyancing searches
- Handling incoming telephone calls and post
- Preparing outgoing post for timely collection
- Opening and maintaining files
- Preparing bills
- Using the firm's document production systems
- Producing spreadsheets and reports using Word and Excel
- Providing support to the wider real estate team as required
Added Advantage (Not Essential)
- Preparing site setup documentation, including draft contracts, transfers, title packs and site documentation
- Liaising with clients and external solicitors to agree draft transfers and estate layout plans
- Dealing with deeds of easement, deeds of covenant, substation transfers, and infrastructure or utility agreements
- Handling sales of freehold blocks of apartments
Skills and Experience
- At least 2 years' conveyancing or plot sales experience within a professional environment (preferred)
- Degree, LPC or ILEX qualification desirable but not essential
- Strong client care skills
- Confident, proactive and able to use initiative
- Quick to learn and adaptable
- Positive, enthusiastic and solution-focused approach
- Good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook (digital dictation desirable but not essential)
