Intellectual Property Associate / Senior Associate
A leading, specialist legal services organisation is seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Solicitor to join its growing commercial team in Manchester. The Opportunity
The role will be based in this collaborative commercial team advising a diverse client base, including businesses, high-net-worth individuals, and industry partners. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor on a broad range of intellectual property and commercial matters, with a strong emphasis on practical, business-oriented legal solutions.
You will work closely with senior leadership and have real influence over both client strategy and the ongoing development of the IP offering.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising on a wide range of intellectual property matters, including trade marks, copyright, licensing, and assignments
- Drafting, negotiating, and reviewing complex IP and commercial agreements
- Managing and resolving complex IP disputes and enforcement issues
- Providing clear, commercially focused legal advice to a varied client base
- Keeping up to date with developments in IP law and emerging industry trends
- Supporting and developing key client and referrer relationships to drive business growth
- Identifying and pursuing opportunities for new business development within the IP and commercial space
- Supervising, mentoring, and supporting junior lawyers within the team
- Supporting the wider commercial team with strategic projects and process improvement initiatives
Candidate Requirements
- Significant post-qualification experience (PQE) in intellectual property law
- Strong technical expertise in IP rights, licensing, enforcement, and related commercial contracts
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
- Experience mentoring or supervising junior team members (desirable)
