A highly successful international law firm is seeking an experienced Employment Solicitor to join its growing Employment team in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded employment lawyer looking to work with a market-leading client base on a broad range of complex and high-profile employment matters. The firm is recognised for its collaborative culture, outstanding client relationships, and strong reputation across the UK and international markets.

Acting for a diverse portfolio of employer clients - from fast-growth businesses to major multinational organisations - the team advises on strategic HR and employment law issues across multiple sectors.

The Opportunity

This role offers exposure to a varied and predominantly non-contentious employment workload, while also providing opportunities to support on complex contentious matters where required. You will work closely with experienced Partners and senior lawyers on high-quality work, while also taking responsibility for managing your own matters and developing client relationships. This position also offers genuine long-term career progression within a supportive and ambitious team environment.

As an Employment Solicitor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Advising employers on a broad range of employment law matters
  • Supporting clients on TUPE transfers, restructures, redundancies, and collective consultation processes
  • Advising on organisational change projects and contract variation exercises
  • Handling day-to-day HR advisory work and complex employee relations matters
  • Providing employment support on corporate transactions, including:
    • Employment due diligence
    • Drafting and negotiating employment warranties and indemnities
    • Outsourcing and commercial arrangements
    • Advising on senior executive appointments and exits
    • Supporting clients with employment litigation and dispute resolution matters
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Supervising and mentoring junior team members
  • Contributing to business development and marketing initiatives

About You

Applications are encouraged from qualified Employment Solicitors with:

  • 5-8 years' post-qualification experience gained within a recognised Employment team
  • Strong technical employment law knowledge across contentious and non-contentious matters
  • Experience advising employer clients
  • Confidence managing matters independently and working directly with clients
  • Previous experience supervising junior lawyers, ideally
  • An interest in networking, business development, and profile-raising activities
