A corporate associate is offered an outstanding opportunity to join an industry leading Debt Capital Markets team at this well-regarded International practice, in London. The successful candidate will work closely with specialist finance colleagues across our core sectors—particularly energy, transport and infrastructure—and contribute to matters involving offices across Europe, Asia, and the US. The role will suit someone looking for high-quality work in a collegiate, client-facing and forward-thinking environment.

Responsibilities

  • Advise on the full spectrum of over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives products, with a focus on:
    • Hedging arrangements linked to secured financings (asset, project and acquisition finance)
    • Pre-hedging and deal-contingent hedging strategies
    • Syndicated hedging structures
    • Derivatives restructurings
  • Draft and negotiate ISDA documentation, credit support arrangements, and related security packages
  • Structure and advise on intercreditor arrangements, including hedging policies and strategies in diverse capital structures and jurisdictions
  • Collaborate closely with our financial services regulatory specialists to deliver commercially pragmatic advice in light of evolving UK, EU and Asian regulatory frameworks
  • Work on transactions originated in London and across our international offices
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, particularly with financial institutions, sponsors, and corporates operating in the global energy, transport and infrastructure sectors

Qualifications

  • Qualified solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent common law jurisdiction)
  • A newly qualified or experienced solicitor, with up to 3 years' of post-qualification experience in derivatives and/or debt capital markets at a recognised law firm or financial institution
  • Solid understanding of ISDA documentation, security arrangements, and regulatory considerations affecting derivatives markets
  • Experience in finance-linked derivatives, particularly in structured finance or project finance contexts, is highly desirable
  • Excellent drafting, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage complex, cross-border transactions with multiple stakeholders
  • A collaborative and proactive approach with a genuine interest in financial markets and innovation in the DCM space
