Fast-growing Business | In-house Litigation Role | Bedfordshire | 12 Month FTC
Looking for a broad in-house litigation role where you can take real ownership of a busy caseload while working closely with senior stakeholders across the business? This market-leading business has grown significantly in recent years, both organically and through acquisition, and they are now looking for a Solicitor or Legal Executive to join their close-knit in-house legal team on a 12 month fixed term contract (with the strong likelihood of the role becoming permanent).
The role will focus predominantly on litigation, with responsibility for managing a high-volume caseload of disputes arising from the business’s operations. The majority of matters are small claims disputes, but the breadth and pace of work means no two days are the same.
You will work closely with the Head of Legal and wider legal team, while also partnering with stakeholders across all levels of the business in a highly commercial, flat-structured environment.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing a varied litigation caseload from instruction through to resolution.
- Handling predominantly customer disputes, including small claims matters.
- Supporting with wider commercial legal matters and ad-hoc business projects as required.
- Working closely with internal stakeholders to provide practical, solutions-focused legal advice.
- Supervising and working alongside paralegals on litigation matters and processes.
This role would suit someone who enjoys operating in a fast-paced environment and is happy to roll their sleeves up and get involved wherever needed. The team are highly supportive, but they are looking for someone capable of managing matters with a good degree of autonomy.
About you
- Ideally 3+ PQE, although candidates with more or less experience will be considered depending on background.
- Strong litigation experience is essential.
- In-house experience would be advantageous.
- Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive.
- Commercially minded, pragmatic and confident communicating with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proactive, hands-on and willing to get stuck in as part of a small collaborative legal team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business where you will have genuine responsibility, visibility across the organisation, and the chance to make an immediate impact.
