An exciting opportunity has arisen within the legal team of a longstanding client of BCL Legal. This role would suit a respondent employment solicitor with circa 8+ years' PQE, and it is ideal for lawyers seeking to move in-house to work as a trusted in-house legal business partner.

Our client is a large and complex energy business that provides critical services and unique solutions within the industry. It employs a significant number of permanent staff and contractors, and with multiple unions onsite, the employment and HR work is often complex, varied and interesting. With this in mind, our client is seeking to recruit a senior employment solicitor to join its long-standing in-house legal team.

Role:

  • Handling complex, sensitive and high-profile issues
  • Leading on major legal projects
  • Contributing to the delivery of strategic objectives
  • Managing day-to-day matters such as policies and procedures, TUPE, Employment Tribunal claims, high-level terminations, and pay disputes

The legal team is very operational with a business partnering approach, so this role will provide superb access to, and involvement with, senior stakeholders throughout the business. This includes the large HR department, as well as operating as part of crisis management teams and similar.

About you:

Our client requires an experienced respondent employment solicitor who is capable of handling a whole myriad of employment law matters, including high-value, complex, and strategic work. Applicants should possess at least 8 years' PQE, and our client is willing to consider applications from solicitors moving in-house for the first time.
