BCL Legal is pleased to be partnering with a prominent national law firm on the appointment of a Corporate Senior Associate or Legal Director to join its established and growing Corporate team in Leeds. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced corporate lawyer to join a highly respected practice that acts for a diverse client base spanning both the public and private sectors. The team advises on a broad range of corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate restructurings, private equity investments and governance issues. The firm has experienced significant growth in recent years and continues to invest in the expansion of its regional teams. The Opportunity

As a senior member of the team, you will play a key role in advising clients on a wide range of corporate transactions and strategic matters. Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and supporting complex corporate transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures and reorganisations.
  • Advising on company law, corporate governance and shareholder matters.
  • Working closely with partners and other senior stakeholders on significant client mandates.
  • Developing and maintaining long‑term client relationships across a broad range of sectors.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers within the team.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across complementary practice areas to deliver a seamless client experience.
  • Supporting business development initiatives and contributing to the continued growth of the Corporate practice.

The team acts for an impressive client base including large corporates, owner‑managed businesses, investors, lenders, housing associations, public sector organisations and fast‑growing companies.

Candidate Requirements

  • A minimum of 7 years' PQE gained within a recognised corporate practice.
  • Strong experience advising on M&A transactions, joint ventures, restructurings and general corporate matters.
  • Experience working with clients in the housing, healthcare or public sectors would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Excellent technical ability coupled with strong commercial judgement.
  • Previous experience supervising, mentoring and developing junior team members.
  • A proactive approach to client relationship management and business development.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build credibility with clients and colleagues alike.
  • A collaborative and team‑oriented mindset.
