Our client, a top-tier UK law firm with a nationally recognised construction practice, is looking for a Solicitor to join their London office on a full-time basis. This is an excellent chance to work on high-profile, complex construction and real estate projects, while developing your expertise under the guidance of senior colleagues. This is a full-service, growing law firm with a diverse client base, ranging from the UK\’s largest businesses and housebuilders to investors, family offices, not-for-profits, and private individuals. They are dedicated to delivering first-class legal advice while promoting a healthy work-life balance, flexibility, and professional growth for their people.
The London-based Construction team is a collaborative, 18-strong group advising a diverse client base, including residential and commercial developers, national housebuilders and investment funds, and entrepreneurs and housing associations. The team handles a wide range of large-scale developments and urban regeneration projects and forms part of the firm\\\’s significant real estate offering, with particular expertise in communal heat and power systems and other energy-related construction matters. The contentious practice spans litigation, arbitration, adjudication, and expert determination, covering issues such as delay and final account claims, defects and professional negligence claims, and complex multi-party disputes. The department also advises on non-contentious construction matters, allowing flexibility for lawyers to develop a balanced or specialist focus.
Responsibilities
- Manage your own matters under supervision
- Work across both contentious and non-contentious construction law matters
- Draft, negotiate, and advise on construction contracts and project documentation
- Support fee-earners on high-value projects and disputes
- Build relationships with clients and external stakeholders
- Develop your project management and time management skills in a dynamic team environment
Qualifications
- Experience within a construction team, either in private practice or in-house
- Exposure to managing matters independently, under supervision
- Strong technical knowledge and genuine interest in construction law
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to balance competing deadlines
- A proactive approach to progressing matters and developing expertise
