A leading regional law firm with an outstanding reputation across the North West is seeking an ambitious Employment Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join its highly regarded Public Sector Employment team. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior to mid-level Employment Lawyer to join a supportive and collaborative team acting for a broad range of public sector clients, including education providers, local authorities, and housing organisations.
You will manage a varied and interesting caseload of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, advising public sector clients on a wide range of employment law issues. The role offers excellent exposure to complex tribunal work, advocacy opportunities, client advisory responsibilities, and involvement in training and business development initiatives. This position would suit an Employment Solicitor looking to further develop their expertise within the public sector, gain high-quality tribunal experience, and work closely with experienced senior lawyers and partners in a respected employment team.
Key Responsibilities- Managing a caseload of public sector employment matters from inception through to resolution
- Advising clients within the education, housing, and local authority sectors
- Handling Employment Tribunal matters, including Unfair dismissal, Discrimination claims, TUPE matters, Redundancy processes, Safeguarding issues
- Representing clients at tribunal hearings and internal disciplinary, grievance, dismissal, and appeal hearings
- Conducting investigations and supporting clients through complex employee relations matters
- Delivering employment law training sessions and presentations to clients
- Collaborating with senior colleagues on complex and high-value employment matters
Applications are welcomed from qualified Solicitors or Chartered Legal Executives with up to 4 years' PQE who can demonstrate previous experience within an Employment Law team, experience managing Employment Tribunal matters, knowledge of unfair dismissal, discrimination, TUPE, redundancy and general employment law issues.
