BCL Legal is delighted to be working with a leading national law firm in their search for an Associate to join one of the top Residential Development teams in the country, based in Birmingham. This is an exceptional opportunity to become part of a market-leading practice advising major housebuilders and residential developers on complex, high-value development projects.
The Role:
- Advise a stellar client base of national housebuilders, mixed-use developers, affordable housing providers, landowners, and investors.
- Act on a wide range of residential development transactions including acquisitions, disposals, option agreements, promotion agreements, joint ventures, and planning/infrastructure matters.
- Manage complex land and property matters involving site assembly, overage, development agreements and strategic land.
- Deliver technically excellent and commercially focused advice, contributing to innovative solutions on housing-led regeneration schemes.
- Build strong, lasting relationships with key clients in a sector supported by long-term government investment.
- Work closely with partners and legal directors on high-profile mandates, with access to sector-leading work and opportunities for career progression.
- Supervise and mentor junior lawyers as appropriate, supporting their development and the growth of the wider team.
Candidate Requirements:
- Strong pre or post-qualification experience in real estate with a particular interest or background in residential development.
- A track record of assisting on land acquisition and residential-led projects.
- Excellent communication skills and a client-centric approach to legal service delivery.
- The ambition to build a long-term career in residential development and become a recognised expert in the field.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to manage your own caseload effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
