Real Estate (Affordable Housing) Senior / Principal Associate 6+ PQE Leading International Law Firm Birmingham/Hybrid

BCL Legal is delighted to be working with a leading international law firm seeking to recruit a Senior or Principal Associate into its highly regarded Affordable Housing team in Birmingham.

This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the UK's largest and most respected real estate practices, advising on high-profile affordable housing development, regeneration and investment projects for an impressive client base.

Opportunity

You will join a specialist Affordable Housing team within a nationally recognised Real Estate practice, acting for registered providers, local authorities, institutional investors and developers on a broad range of affordable housing transactions.

Working alongside experienced Partners and multidisciplinary teams, you will play a key role in delivering complex development and investment projects across the sector.

Your role will include

  • Advising on all aspects of affordable housing ownership, development and investment
  • Managing title due diligence, land acquisitions and property development matters
  • Acting on portfolio acquisitions and disposals within the affordable housing sector
  • Advising on Section 106 acquisitions and wider development transactions
  • Drafting and negotiating development agreements and related property documentation
  • Supporting institutional investment and residential portfolio transactions
  • Working closely with planning, construction, corporate, tax and finance specialists on complex projects
  • Building and maintaining long term client relationships with registered providers, local authorities and investors
  • Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers where appropriate
  • Contributing to business development and the continued growth of the practice

About You

  • 6+ PQE with experience in affordable housing, residential development, commercial property or development work
  • Technically strong, with experience handling complex real estate transactions
  • Confident managing their own caseload while delivering excellent client service
  • Commercially aware, with a pragmatic and solutions focused approach
  • Keen to build lasting client relationships and become a trusted adviser
  • A collaborative team player with strong communication skills
  • Interested in supervising junior lawyers and supporting team development
  • Motivated to build a long term career within a growing and nationally recognised affordable housing practice
