BCL Legal is working on behalf of a leading law firm specialising in personal injury and clinical negligence, to recruit an ambitious Associate to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a market-leading practice providing high-quality defence services to healthcare providers, insurers, and individual practitioners.
About the Team
The team has an outstanding reputation for managing and defending claims across NHS and private healthcare sectors, including catastrophic injury cases and complex litigation. The practice advises a broad client base on claims management, serious incident investigations, and outsourced claims services, giving candidates exposure to high-profile and impactful matters.
Role and Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of employer's liability and public liability claims, both pre-litigation and litigated, primarily Fast Track and lower-value Multi Track matters.
- Assist with higher-value and more complex claims, including Human Rights and data breach matters.
- Assess legal liability, causation, and damages, and determine the need for further investigation.
- Effectively utilise case management systems to ensure accurate tracking of matters and achievement of performance targets.
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in handling casualty claims in a legal environment, both pre- and post-litigation.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess liability, causation, and damages.
- Self-motivated, ambitious, and capable of working independently while contributing to team and practice development.
- Excellent communication skills with a commitment to providing high-quality client service.
