BCL Legal is working with a top-tier national law firm on the recruitment of a Commercial IT Associate or Senior Associate (5-7 PQE) to join its growing Commercial/IT team in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile technology and outsourcing projects within a collaborative and highly regarded team. The firm offers total flexibility around where you work - there are no mandated office days.
The Role
- Advise on a wide range of commercial technology contracts, ICT projects, and outsourcing arrangements.
- Work on a major, mission-critical outsourcing programme expected to run for the next 2-3 years.
- Act for a broad client base including central government bodies, NHS organisations, local authorities and housing associations, as well as private sector companies.
- Lead on a variety of commercial projects while collaborating with colleagues across multiple practice areas.
- Draft and negotiate complex IT and commercial agreements.
- Supervise and support junior members of the team.
- Build strong client relationships and contribute to the growth of the practice.
Candidate Requirements
- 5-7 years' PQE with strong experience in commercial contracts.
- Experience drafting and negotiating IT or technology-related agreements.
- Exposure to commercial transactions, outsourcing or contract management.
- A demonstrable interest in technology and IT law.
- A practical and commercial approach to legal advice.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
