The Opportunity

  • You will join a collaborative specialist team advising an impressive client base including universities, charities, insurers and financial institutions.
  • The role offers exposure to a genuinely varied workload and the opportunity to develop expertise across complementary practice areas, with the flexibility to build on your existing experience and interests.
  • Working closely with senior lawyers, you will advise on matters including:
  • Charity law advice for universities and other higher education institutions
  • Governance, constitutional and regulatory matters affecting charities and higher education clients
  • University restructurings, mergers and commercial projects
  • Establishment and structuring of charitable subsidiaries, joint ventures and commercial arrangements
  • Advising insurers and financial institutions on innovative commercial trust structures
  • Healthcare trusts, employee benefit trusts and group life arrangements
  • Cross-practice matters alongside colleagues in Corporate, Insurance, Financial Services, Banking and Restructuring

About You

  • We are keen to hear from England & Wales qualified lawyers with circa 2-6 years' PQE who can demonstrate:
  • Experience in charity law, higher education, trusts or another closely related practice area
  • Strong technical ability and excellent drafting skills
  • A commercial and pragmatic approach to legal advice
  • A collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills
  • An interest in developing expertise across both charity/higher education and commercial trusts work
  • Experience gained within a well-regarded commercial or specialist practice would be advantageous, although candidates with experience in one of these disciplines are encouraged to apply.
