BCL Legal is delighted to be partnering with a highly respected national law firm on the recruitment of a Senior Associate to join its Banking & Finance team. This permanent position is offered in either the Birmingham or London office, with flexible hybrid working options available. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a collaborative and growing team that forms part of a broader, top-tier national finance practice.
The Role
This is a key hire within a market-facing Banking & Finance team advising on a wide range of mid-market UK and international transactions across sectors including:
- Renewable energy, infrastructure, and housing
- Financial services and private equity
- Technology, healthcare, retail, aerospace, and mining
You will work across a full spectrum of banking matters, including:
- Corporate lending (syndicated and bilateral)
- Leveraged and acquisition finance
- Asset-based lending and receivables finance
- Project finance and debt capital markets
- Structuring advice and cross-border deals
- Drafting and negotiating facility, security, intercreditor, and ancillary documents
You will also work closely with colleagues across corporate, pensions, and construction to deliver joined-up, commercial advice to clients.
The Candidate
- Qualified solicitor with 5-8 years' PQE and strong general banking experience
- Confident advising lenders, borrowers, and private equity clients on a range of finance matters
- Skilled in drafting loan documents and negotiating key transaction terms
- Able to manage transactions with minimal supervision
- Strong communication and client-handling skills
- Enjoys collaborative working and has a proactive, commercial mindset
- Comfortable supporting business development activity and client relationship building
