BCL Legal is delighted to be working with a leading UK law firm on the recruitment of a Banking & Finance Lawyer (3 to 8 years' PQE) to join its growing structured and asset-based lending team, based in Birmingham. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a national practice known for its expertise, collaborative approach, and exceptional client base.
The Role
This position sits within a high-performing Banking & Finance team that forms part of a broader national structured finance group. The team advises a broad spectrum of clients on a range of financing transactions, including:
- UK clearing banks
- European and investment banks
- Independent financiers and investment funds
- Corporate borrowers ranging from SMEs to listed companies
While experience in invoice finance, receivables financing or asset-based lending is highly desirable, candidates with a general banking background and knowledge of LMA-based documentation are strongly encouraged to apply.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will:
- Be a qualified solicitor in England & Wales with 3-8 years' PQE
- Have experience working within a respected commercial, national, or City firm
- Ideally bring knowledge of ABL, receivables or invoice finance (though not essential)
- Possess strong technical skills and good commercial judgment
- Demonstrate a team-oriented and client-focused approach
- Be eager to contribute to both transactional work and the growth of the practice
