We are working with a highly regarded national law firm seeking an Employment Associate with between 1 and 5 years' PQE to join its growing Employment team in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity to join a market-leading practice with an outstanding reputation for advising a diverse client base across both the private and public sectors. The team is recognised for handling complex and high-value employment matters, acting for organisations including major businesses, charities, housing providers, educational institutions and public bodies. The Role

  • Advise clients on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment law matters.
  • Draft and review employment contracts, workplace policies and disciplinary and grievance procedures.
  • Manage Employment Tribunal claims from initial instruction through to resolution.
  • Support corporate transactions and restructures, including TUPE-related matters.
  • Advise on employee relations issues and data subject access requests.
  • Deliver strategic employment law advice to clients across a range of sectors.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while contributing to business development initiatives.
  • Produce thought leadership content and participate in seminars and client events.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal developments and sector-specific issues.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across a nationally recognised Employment practice.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor with 1-5 years' PQE in employment law.
  • Strong technical knowledge across contentious and advisory employment matters.
  • Experience advising commercial and/or public sector clients is advantageous.
  • Excellent drafting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities with confidence in client-facing situations.
  • Commercially aware with the ability to provide practical, client-focused advice.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A collaborative team player with enthusiasm for business development and long-term career progression.
