Job: Company Secretarial Assistant, Midlands based – hybrid working
Reporting into the Company Secretary who holds a dual legal and cosec role, you will play an integral part in enhancing the company secretarial function with key involvement in corporate governance projects, corporate compliance matters and providing high quality board support.
The Opportunity
You will be supported in your learning and development in corporate governance matters and future CGI qualification. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about developing a career in the company secretarial field and ideally someone who is a graduate member with CGI or working towards qualification.
Key Responsibilities
- You will work in a varied role with good exposure to company law and corporate governance matters.
- Your responsibilities will include statutory compliance, Companies House filings, subsidiary management for UK and Ireland entities, as well as support with corporate governance projects.
- You will work alongside the wider legal team and stay proactive with horizon scanning and providing advice on changes in legislation.
About You
You must have a good understanding of UK corporate governance requirements, either from your experience in a similar role in industry or in professional services. You will be an effective communicator with strong relationship building skills and attention to detail. You must be able to confidently work independently as well as part of a team and will be passionate about good governance. Experience with Diligent or similar company secretarial software packages would be beneficial.

You will be offered a competitive salary for the region of c£30k-£40k, depending on experience, plus a range of attractive employee benefits and flexibility to work from home up to 2 days per week. You will join a collaborative environment with the opportunity to develop your corporate governance and company secretarial skills in a hands-on technical role with lots of support. There is a genuine opportunity for this role to develop and progress into an Assistant Company Secretary role along with study support to become a Chartered Company Secretary.
