Contextual Overview
BCL Legal, a leading international law firm, is hiring a Fund Finance Associate or Senior Associate for its sponsor‑side funds practice in London. The role offers direct exposure to high‑value fund finance transactions and close collaboration with a partner who co‑leads the firm’s Funds practice.
Key Eligibility Criteria
- Associate (1–3 PQE): experience in fund finance, leveraged finance, real‑estate finance or structured finance; strong drafting skills; interest in fund finance career.
- Senior Associate (5–7 PQE): established fund finance or related finance experience; advanced drafting/negotiation abilities; commercial mindset and client‑development focus.
- Candidates from top international or City firms, and in‑house lawyers with relevant transactional experience, are preferred.
Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Advise on a broad range of fund finance transactions for sponsor‑side and lender‑side clients.
- Draft and negotiate complex finance documentation and transaction agreements.
- Work closely with Partners and senior team members on significant deals, gaining client exposure.
- Develop and maintain client relationships; contribute to business‑development initiatives.
- Assume increasing responsibility within a collaborative, partner‑led team.
Stipend, Compensation & Mode
Competitive remuneration package. The firm’s London NQ salary starts at £150,000 with a billable‑hours bonus (starting at 90% target achievement) and a discretionary bonus component.
