Emerging Companies & Venture Capital Associate - Austin, TX
A leading international law firm is looking to add a mid-level Associate to its Emerging Companies & Venture Capital team in Austin.
This is an opportunity to join a highly regarded corporate practice, working with high-growth companies, start-ups and investors across the technology, life sciences and consumer sectors.
The role
The successful candidate will have 4-6 years' experience with a strong background in emerging companies and venture capital work.
You’ll have experience advising start-ups and emerging growth companies across areas including:
- Seed and venture capital financings
- Venture financings using NVCA documentation
- Public offerings
- Domestic M&A transactions, particularly involving start-ups and investors
- General corporate matters for high-growth businesses and their investors
You’ll work closely with sophisticated clients and have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility across a broad range of corporate transactions.
The ideal candidate
The firm is looking for someone who:
- Has 4-6 years' relevant experience from a strong corporate practice
- Has significant ECVC experience, including venture financings using NVCA documents
- Has some domestic M&A experience, ideally involving start-ups and/or investors
- Has an interest in, or experience working with, technology, life sciences and/or CPG businesses
- Is commercially minded with strong legal and business judgement
- Is confident managing client and counsel relationships
- Communicates clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
- Is proactive, entrepreneurial and keen to take on increasing responsibility
- Works well as part of a collaborative team
- Is admitted to the Texas Bar, or eligible to waive in
Location: Austin, TX
Experience: 4-6 years
Salary: $310,000-$390,000, plus bonus and benefits
