Temporary Debt Recovery Solicitor (Mid-Level) - Potential to Go Permanent

We are seeking a mid-level Debt Recovery Solicitor or CILEX Fellow (Litigation Practice Rights) for a temporary assignment, with the potential to convert to a permanent role for the right candidate. This opportunity suits a technically strong litigator who is comfortable operating in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, and who can take ownership of litigation quality while supporting operational delivery at scale.

The Role

You will act as a technical lead within a busy enforcement/litigation function, overseeing the conduct of high-volume small claims and debt recovery litigation. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will help ensure compliance, consistency, and efficiency across a large caseload.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acting as the technical authority for the conduct of litigation, ensuring reserved legal activities are carried out appropriately
  • Drafting, reviewing and signing off high volumes of pleadings, applications and other court documents
  • Providing technical guidance and feedback to litigation and enforcement staff
  • Supporting the refinement of litigation workflows and processes in a high-volume setting
  • Delivering technical training on relevant Civil Procedure Rules and small claims processes
  • Monitoring regulatory and professional compliance and identifying risk within large-scale litigation operations

About You

  • Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) or CILEX Fellow with Litigation Practice Rights
  • Around 3+ years' PQE (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong background in high-volume litigation, ideally within debt recovery or small claims
  • Excellent working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules, Debt Pre-Action Protocols, and MCOL
  • Commercially minded, with the ability to balance compliance and operational pace
  • Comfortable working to deadlines and targets
  • Experience supervising or supporting junior staff is desirable

What's on Offer

  • Temporary role with the potential for permanency
  • Exposure to large-scale, operational litigation work
  • Opportunity to make a genuine impact in a technically led role
  • Competitive day rate or salary (depending on engagement type)
