We are seeking a mid-level Debt Recovery Solicitor or CILEX Fellow (Litigation Practice Rights) for a temporary assignment, with the potential to convert to a permanent role for the right candidate. This opportunity suits a technically strong litigator who is comfortable operating in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, and who can take ownership of litigation quality while supporting operational delivery at scale.
The Role
You will act as a technical lead within a busy enforcement/litigation function, overseeing the conduct of high-volume small claims and debt recovery litigation. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will help ensure compliance, consistency, and efficiency across a large caseload.
Key Responsibilities
- Acting as the technical authority for the conduct of litigation, ensuring reserved legal activities are carried out appropriately
- Drafting, reviewing and signing off high volumes of pleadings, applications and other court documents
- Providing technical guidance and feedback to litigation and enforcement staff
- Supporting the refinement of litigation workflows and processes in a high-volume setting
- Delivering technical training on relevant Civil Procedure Rules and small claims processes
- Monitoring regulatory and professional compliance and identifying risk within large-scale litigation operations
About You
- Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) or CILEX Fellow with Litigation Practice Rights
- Around 3+ years' PQE (or equivalent experience)
- Strong background in high-volume litigation, ideally within debt recovery or small claims
- Excellent working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules, Debt Pre-Action Protocols, and MCOL
- Commercially minded, with the ability to balance compliance and operational pace
- Comfortable working to deadlines and targets
- Experience supervising or supporting junior staff is desirable
