Job Overview
BCHA has set up a new supported accommodation project in Yeovil and is looking for Day Support Workers to join our small, supportive team. This role offers a chance to genuinely make a real difference to people experiencing significant challenges and add value as part of a dedicated team of professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with customers to identify personal goals and steps toward achieving them.
- Support customers to maintain their tenancy and move onto more independent living.
- Provide practical support such as paying rent and bills, accessing appointments to support wellbeing (GP, SDAS, mental health), maximising income through benefit claims, seeking and applying for move-on accommodation via the private rented sector or social housing (Homefinder).
- Facilitate access to social activities.
- Deliver customer-led support using person-centred, trauma-informed and psychologically informed approaches.
- Maintain regular one-to-one sessions to build positive, trusting, respectful relationships and enable progress toward independent living.
