BCHA are a diverse and growing specialist housing, learning and support provider. We provide support to our customers who may be facing a range of issues such as homelessness, domestic abuse, mental health, substance misuse, and human trafficking. BCHA provide temporary accommodation in Exeter, and are looking for a Night Worker to join our small and supportive team. BCHA offer competitive rates of pay and a full induction including a high level of tailored training in every aspect of the position to ensure that all staff are supported to provide the best quality of service.

You’ll be working directly with customers in our Homelessness service, helping them feel secure, heard, and empowered.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Be the first point of contact overnight, offering a calming and reassuring presence to Customers.
  • Create a safe and inclusive environment for customers.
  • Support customers with practical needs while encouraging self-management and independence.
  • De-escalate situations with empathy and professionalism, promoting safety for all.
  • Record accurate and timely notes to support joined-up working with the wider support team.
  • Work collaboratively with local services, signposting and referring where appropriate.
  • Respond with compassion to those in emotional distress or crisis.
  • Ensure confidentiality, uphold professional boundaries, and champion dignity at all times.
  • Promote community engagement, well-being activities, and life skills that support long-term progress.
