BCHA is looking for a reliable, caring and dedicated Cleaner to join our Domestic Abuse (DA) Service in Plymouth.
We understand the importance of providing safe, clean and welcoming accommodation for people who have experienced domestic abuse. Your work will play an important part in maintaining an environment where residents feel comfortable, respected and supported as they work towards a safer and more independent future.
Working alongside a small, supportive team, you will take pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout our accommodation. This will include cleaning communal areas, responding to day-to-day cleaning needs and preparing vacant rooms so they are ready for new residents.
What you’ll be doing
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the accommodation, particularly in communal areas.
- Cleaning vacant rooms and preparing them for new residents.
- Working alongside the Housing and Support Team to promote good hygiene standards throughout the service.
- Responding to additional cleaning needs as they arise.
- Using cleaning materials and equipment safely and effectively.
- Helping to create a safe, welcoming and respectful environment for residents, staff and visitors.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who is dependable, takes pride in their work and understands the importance of maintaining a clean and hygienic environment.
You’ll be organised, able to work independently and manage your time effectively. A positive, flexible approach and an understanding of the need for discretion, respect and sensitivity when working in a domestic abuse service are also important.
Previous cleaning experience would be beneficial, but above all, we’re looking for someone who cares about doing a good job and making a positive difference.
