Job summary

We are looking to recruit Business Change Analysts as part of the Delivery and Innovation team within Digital at NWAS initially on a 6-month fixed term basis, with an opportunity to extend to 12 months. The Business Change Analyst is responsible for working with a variety of subject matter experts to determine requirements through the analysis and review of systems and processes. The Business Change Analyst will lead detailed design phases, identify where improvements and efficiencies can be gained and drive forward the requirements through to solution design, in line with achieving the Trust\’s strategic objectives.

In order to meet the demands of the role and the service it provides, this role requires significant on-site presence and regular travel across the North West to attend Trust locations.

The post holder in summary will be responsible for:

· Undertaking a variety of activities as associated with a business change analyst within a digital environment including but not limited to,

· Business process mapping for as is and to be states

· Requirements gathering from end users (digital and non-digital)

· Development of specifications for technical teams to develop solutions

· Documentation of scope, finance, timescales, benefits when applicable

· Working collaboratively with clinical, operational, corporate and digital teams to develop and design innovative solutions

· Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders from across the trust to enable the delivery of an effective business change analysis function

Working for our organisation

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.

Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.
We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.

Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.

We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

  • Detailed knowledge of Business Modelling and Analysis
  • Strong verbal, presentation and written communication skills
  • Ability to provide and receive complex, sensitive or contentious information, where developed persuasive, motivational, negotiation, training, empathic or re-assurance skills are required
  • A solid understanding of the application of information technology and how it can be used to achieve organisational effectiveness
  • An ability to negotiate and influence others in a positive manner with the confidence to deal with different priorities and differing views in order to achieve change/improvement
  • Articulate and clear in communications to mixed audiences in writing, through presentations and one to one

Qualification and knowledge

  • Demonstrable experience in gathering and documenting requirements across a broad spectrum of specialties through the identification and evaluation of a range of options whilst taking into account scope, budget, timescales, benefits, risk and quality in support of the business need
  • Demonstrable excellence interpersonally; articulate, creative, self-aware, controlled and confident
  • Experience of a strong delivery focus and determination, with the ability to drive progress forward and a passion for results and achieving goals
  • Experience in the application of business change and business analysis processes and principles
