As Managing Consultant, Hotel Spend Management - Advito, you’ll lead a team of consultants who directly deliver hotel consulting engagements to new and existing mid‑ and large‑market clients. While consultants manage the engagements, you’ll oversee their success by stepping in as needed to add support, design custom deliverables, and engage clients. You will also lead the hotel practice, responsible for staffing assignments, adequate resource load, pipeline management with sales and sales support, project scope documentation and design, project delivery processes, deliverable design, and quality assurance.
Our consulting practice follows a modern approach to hotel spend management. Powerful analytics, innovative sourcing strategies, and Advito’s ongoing performance management help our clients elevate their hotel programs beyond traditional sourcing. You will design and implement the processes our consultants use to bring these solutions to our clients in ways they can be easily adopted.
Responsibilities- Lead a global team of high‑performing, client‑facing consulting professionals
- Establish, grow and maintain long‑term relationships with clients focused on optimizing corporate travel hotel spend
- Coach your team on partnering with clients throughout hotel program consulting engagements to elevate their program to a new level aligned with industry evolution
- Assess each client’s style and demeanor and adjust your style to drive change; coach each consultant on doing the same
- Identify additional revenue opportunities with the client from both current and future engagements
- Leverage data, analytics, and current and emerging hotel spend management techniques to create hotel spend management strategy recommendations for clients
- Optimize the processes and protocols consultants follow in partnering with the hotel support team to execute upon strategy; integrate that team into overall project plans and delegate actionable tasks through to completion which directly impacts client’s bookable rates
- Determine the ideal balance of solutions to optimize complex hotel programs – i.e., rate structures, program monitoring solutions, OBT merchandising strategies, and other policy and marketing initiatives
- Own and evolve solutions to manage client project information, plans, and sales activities in hotel resource management and sales tracking tools
- Be a visible leader within the team, mentor all internal team members, and support their development via delegation and skill‑appropriate participation in client delivery and practice initiatives
- Prior experience in a client‑facing customer success, change management, or consulting role
- Proven team and project leadership experience with a passion for developing others
- High EQ and ability to build global relationships that foster open communication and trust
- Strong communication skills – verbal, visual, and written – at all organizational levels
- Comfortable with technology as an enabler
- Advanced math and critical analysis skills; ability to decode, translate visualizations, and convert data into actionable insights
- Strong multi‑tasking ability and ability to manage competing priorities
- Self‑starter with a consultative approach and proven track record of delivering high‑quality results within deadlines
- Ability to work with diverse, cross‑functional international teams
