Purpose of the role:

• Toprovide day to dayoperationalleadership in theYardareaensuring required vehicle movements are completed in a timely, safe and efficient manner.
• Tosupport theDuty Manager– Yard Logisticsin thedelivery ofallelementsofeffectivepeople managementincluding recruitment,training, performancemanagement, communicationandwellbeing.

People Management:

• To manage all elements of the employee lifecycleincludingonboarding and offboarding.
• Performance management of the teamincluding training, coachingand appraisalsto ensure both optimum performance and talent pipeline.
• Effective workforcemanagement, including absence planning,ensuringoptimum staff levels at all timesand adherence to working time directive.
• Effective communication to team ensuringawareness of results and key priorities.

Operational Management:

• To transport vehicles across the site safely and efficiently to support production areas, buyer collections and internal and external collection agents.
• Ensure adherence to BCA Standard Operating Procedures.
• Ensure that quality, speed and cost targets are delivered to maximise profitability.
• Ensure the logistics team provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers, supporting other departments where appropriate.
• Organise the layout and flow of the yard to optimise capacity, efficiency and safety whilst minimising onsite damage.

Technical skills:

• Delegate responsibility appropriately and effectively
• Ability to motivate a team to deliver objectives and meet targets
• Good report generation and presentation abilities
• Excellent attention to detail
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office– including Excel and Powerpoint

Knowledge and Experience:

• Experience in a line manager or team leader role
• Able to demonstratehigh-levelorganisational skills and an ability to communicate a variety of information and instruction to operational team members and first line supervisors
• Full UK Driving Licence

Up to £60k per annum to start, after 6 months and delivery on set objectives up to £65k
