Job Title: Financial Controller – Fixed-Term-Contract
Salary: £72,000 - £85,000 (experience dependent) plus bonus and car allowance
Location: Hybrid, Blackbushe (2-3 days in the office per week)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (8:30am-5:30pm)
Job Status: Fixed-Term-Contract until February 2028

Main Purpose of The Role:

As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring robust financial control, accurate reporting, and compliance with both statutory and BCA requirements across BCAOS.

Working closely with senior stakeholders, the UK Retail accounting team, Finance Shared Services (FSS) and regional finance teams, you will provide valuable financial insight to support decision-making and drive business performance.

This role will also play a key part in the implementation of a new ERP system within BCAOS, helping to shape future finance processes and ensuring a successful transition from project delivery into business-as-usual operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own end-to-end finance processes and month-end close activities, ensuring accuracy, completeness and timeliness of reporting.
• Maintain strong relationships with Finance Shared Services to ensure transactional activity is accurately reflected in the accounts.
• Prepare and review monthly management accounts, ensuring timely submissions to UK Retail Accounting and Group Finance.
• Act as the primary BCAOS contact for Group Finance, maintaining effective communication and collaboration.
• Maintain a strong financial control environment, including balance sheet reconciliations, reviews and issue resolution.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, financial policies, tax regulations and statutory requirements.
• Lead on the accounting treatment of technical and complex financial matters.
• Support external audit activities and requirements.
• Oversee cash flow management, working capital controls and financial risk monitoring.
• Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting to senior management.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning processes in partnership with the regional finance team.
• Review and submit weekly 13-week cash flow forecasts while proactively monitoring significant cash movements.
• Build and manage strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business.

  ERP Implementation & Finance Transformation

• Support the implementation of a new ERP system, ensuring finance requirements and controls are embedded within the solution.
• Work closely with senior stakeholders, IT teams, project teams and external partners to deliver project milestones.
• Support chart of accounts design, data migration, reconciliations, controls implementation and reporting requirements.
• Support finance activities associated with user acceptance testing (UAT), training, business change and post-go-live stabilisation.
• Help drive the successful transition of new processes into business-as-usual operations.

  Team Leadership

• Manage, coach, and develop members of the finance team.
• Ensure BAU workloads remain stable and controlled before and during ERP activity.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and high professional standards.
• Promote best practice, change adoption and efficiency across end-to-end finance processes.

Knowledge and Experience Required:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Proven experience in a Financial Controller or similar role.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial systems/ERPs.
• Proactive, resilient, and able to work to deadlines.
• Commercially minded with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Ability to work on both BAU and implementation activity at the same time.
• Experience in ERP systems implementations.
• Previous team management experience.
