Main Purpose of The Role: The purpose of this role is to support the UK Remarketing (UKR) senior finance team by ensuring robust financial control, accurate reporting and compliance with statutory and BCA requirements. The role will partner closely with regional finance teams to support decision-making, drive financial insight and improve business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the daily end-to-end finance processes and month‑end close processes across areas of responsibility, ensuring understanding of results, accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
- Support the preparation and review of monthly management accounts, ensuring accurate and timely submissions to Group for monthly reporting.
- Maintain an effective control environment and strong balance sheet control, including reviews of reconciliations and timely issue resolution.
- Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards, financial policies and statutory requirements.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to senior management.
- Responsibility for payroll reporting across the UKR business.
- Ownership of the accounting and reporting for Remarketing Services.
- Input to budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range financial planning activities, working with the regional finance team to ensure current and predicted performance is understood.
- Manage, coach, and develop members of the finance team.
- Ensure the team is productive and operating to a high standard.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and high professional standards.
Knowledge and Experience Required:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Strong technical accounting knowledge.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to perform initial self-review of work prior to presentation.
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial systems/ERPs.
- Previous team management experience.
- Ability to challenge the status quo and a desire to find ways of improving current processes and outputs.
