Job Title: Product Designer

Salary: £41,000 – £52,000 + £5,000 Car Allowance + Bonus!

Location: Hybrid of Home-working + Once in every two months, trips to local Remarketing centres.

Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week

Job Status: Permanent

About the role

As a BCA Product Designer you will be part of a collaborative, multi-skilled team covering design, research and product strategy. We are a growing team looking for an ambitious and talented designer to help craft first-class online experiences for our customers, across all our BCA digital products and services.

It is an exciting time to join the team as we focus more and more on our digital experiences, using well known user cantered design methods and the latest tools to design digital experiences our customers will love. We enjoy working in agile conditions so it’s important that you’re adaptable in your approach to collaborative user cantered design.

What you\’ll be doing:

  • Develop strong relationships with fellow Designers, Product Managers and key stakeholders
  • Plan an appropriate approach to each product and champion best practice
  • Communicate clearly and effectively design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams, product managers and stakeholders both verbally and visually
  • Produce journey maps and user flows to understand and demonstrate the user journey highlighting real user needs, motivations, and pain-points
  • Facilitate ideation and sketching sessions
  • Ideate, explore and collaborate on wireframes, user stories, user journeys, mockups and prototypes optimised for a wide range of devices and platforms
  • Translate initial thinking & data structure into product concepts
  • Take a user-cantered design approach and rapidly test and iterate ideas and concepts
  • Seek constant and prompt user validation through the product conception stages
  • Help product development teams establish direction and vision
  • Provide a pathway to simplify complex business problems into a coherent, end-to-end user experience
  • Identify user problems and devise solutions
  • Make strategic design and user experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features
  • Produce high fidelity visual designs of the full end to end experience.

Skills that will help you in your role:

  • Digital eCommerce Experience, preferably with a portion of that in-house
  • Ideally 3 or more years of UX or Product design experience
  • BA or BS in Design, User Experience, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field. In lieu of degree, relevant skills or equivalent experience
  • Experience working alongside developers, product managers and other designers as part of an agile, collaborative product development process
  • Excellent graphic communication & presentation skills
  • Highly creative with ability to think outside the box
  • Experience designing and prototyping within Figma including interaction design
  • Ability to create confident and clean visual designs for multiple platforms
