Main purpose of the role: We’re looking for a proactive and hands‑on Bodyshop Workshop Controller (Cosmetic) to join our team at BCA Manchester. This is a key operational role where you’ll work closely with our bodyshop technicians on the workshop floor, ensuring smooth daily operations, high-quality output, and a positive team environment. If you come from a strong paint or prep background and enjoy leading by example, this role will give you the opportunity to combine your technical expertise with team leadership.
Role Responsibilities:
- Lead, support, and motivate bodyshop technicians to deliver safe, efficient, high‑quality work.
- Coordinate daily workloads, monitor progress, and resolve issues to meet operational targets.
- Provide hands‑on guidance, training, and mentoring to develop team skills and performance.
- Manage team communication, briefings, and HR‑related tasks such as attendance, holidays, and performance reviews.
Personal Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a supervisory, team leadership, or managerial position within a bodyshop or similar technical environment.
- At least 5 years’ hands‑on bodyshop experience, ideally with strong paint or prep expertise.
- Comfortable working in a predominantly hands‑on role, actively supporting technicians on the workshop floor rather than in a desk‑based position.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Confident user of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook and Excel, with strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively motivate and support the team.
