Key Responsibilities
- General maintenance tasks — completing ad hoc repairs and minor fix‑work across the site.
- Facilities upkeep — carrying out routine duties such as painting, basic decorating, and small improvement works.
- Manual handling duties — safely lifting, moving, and transporting materials and equipment.
- Site cleanliness and waste management — keeping the site clean and tidy, clearing waste, and segregating recycling in line with site policy.
- Driving maintenance vehicles — operating site vehicles to support maintenance and operational tasks.
- Grounds maintenance — supporting outdoor upkeep including basic landscaping, clearing, and general grounds care.
Skills and knowledge we are looking for
- Full UK Driving Licence — able to confidently drive site vehicles, including vans, as part of daily duties.
- Counterbalance forklift qualification — trained and certified to operate counterbalance equipment safely.
- Maintenance & facilities experience — practical skills or strong interest in general repairs, gardening, basic carpentry, and hands‑on upkeep.
- Outdoor working capability — physically fit, comfortable working outdoors in all weather, and used to manual tasks.
- Health & safety awareness — understanding of safe working practices, PPE use, and hazard identification.
- Basic tool proficiency — able to use common hand tools and small power tools confidently.
- Problem‑solving mindset — able to spot issues early and take initiative to resolve or escalate.
- Teamwork and communication — works well with site teams, contractors, and supervisors to keep operations running smoothly.
