Main purpose of the role:

As Workshop Supervisor, you will oversee the day‑to‑day running of our busy workshop at BCA Corby, supervising a team of 20+ workshop technicians and ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standards. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will play a key role in driving performance, maintaining professional standards and supporting the smooth running of workshop operations. You will champion a culture centred around Safety, Quality, Productivity and Professional Standards, while supporting the development and wellbeing of your team.

Key Duties:

  • Lead daily workshop operations— supervise and motivate a team of 20+ technicians, ensuring targets, KPIs and quality standards are met
  • Coordinate workflow— plan daily tasks, allocate resource and liaise with internal departments to maximise efficiency
  • Manage people processes— oversee attendance, holidays, performance reviews and skill‑testing for new starters
  • Champion safety and compliance— uphold H&S standards, enforce site rules and ensure all staff follow company and customer policies
  • Maintain operational standards— ensure vehicles are parked within SLA requirements and report any breaches to the Operations Manager

Skills and knowledge we are looking for:

  • Technical qualifications— City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3 (Not essential)
  • Workshop supervisory background — experience overseeing technicians or workshop processes
  • Strong IT capability — confident using Microsoft Outlook, Excel and operational systems
  • Proven workshop expertise — strong hands‑on experience within a workshop or automotive technical environment
  • Leadership capability — confident supervising teams in fast‑paced operational settings
  • Clear, effective communication — able to motivate teams, give direction and build strong working relationships
  • Full UK Driving Licence
