Technician – Motor Vehicle
Full‑time position on a 37‑hour per week, all‑year‑round support contract at the Berkshire College of Agriculture campus. Salary on Scale G of the Support Staff Scale (G17 £25,483 up to G19 £27,284).
Responsibilities
- Provide a safe and effective practical teaching and learning environment.
- Support learning through demonstrations, instruction, and supervision.
- Assist with the induction of students and help lecturing staff with practical demonstrations and instructions.
- Prepare equipment and materials for lessons.
- Participate in events such as parents’ evenings, recruitment, trade events, and open days, contributing to the college’s marketing efforts.
- Maintain a safe learning environment by adhering to safe working practices, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring the maintenance and servicing of all equipment and machinery.
- Manage supplies, parts, and consumables, keeping the practical learning areas clean and organised.
- Foster a discrimination‑free atmosphere where students and staff can express individuality safely.
Qualifications
- Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject area.
- Level 2 English and maths.
- Experience working in a workshop‑based environment.
